Alberton house is a large homestead located in Mt Albert. The architecture is very unique seeing as the family took aspects of their travels and heritage and incorporated it into the house.
Located on a slope in Mt Albert, once the crown jewel of a 500 acre estate, Alberton house started of as a farmhouse made in 1863. The owner of this farm house was Allan Kerr Taylor, who purchased estates in Auckland a long time ago. Allan Kerr Taylor along with his siblings inherited his fathers fortunes. His Father was a colonel in the British Army stationed in India. As Allan's wealth grew so did the property and his family, with now 10 children with his second wife Sophia. The house is now an 18 room mansion with heavy Indian influence.
