Scratch Programming
Overview
Open Source software 'Scratch' offers an introduction to the concepts of logical thinking and computer programming. Students use blocks of pre-made code to create sequences of instructions including conditionals, variables and loops.
In this unit students will learn the basics like:
- How to use Scratch
- How to create sprites
- How to make sprites move and follow other sprites and the mouse
- How to add sounds to a project
- How to create a simple score keeping game
- How to add sounds to a project
- How to create a simple score keeping game
Students will then use these skills to create games that teach others about cyber safety or Te Reo Maori.
